Linksys WRT54G wireless router has an inbuilt firewall and NAT feature which may prevent certain online applications from running. For example, if you are a hardcore gamer, you may find issues with playing online games through a Linksys router. It is because some ports which must be opened for the smooth playing might be blocked by Linksys router firewall. For the protection of devices connected to WRT54G, built in firewall allow traffic through only known ports and any application which use uncommon ports are blocked by default. Port Forwarding

  1. Log on to Setup Page

    Use the IP address 192.168.1.1 or the instructions provided in the link below to login to the setup page.

  2. Click on Applications and Gaming

  3. Click on port range forward

  5. After entering the port details click on save settings.

Where to Get Port Numbers?

It depends on which program is facing trouble with accessing the Internet.
